For our Central Post Office we are looking for a self-starting and hands-on:

Assistant Controller
Based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands

As an Assistant Controller, you will assist in the various reporting cycles and control processes of the business. You will provide timely and reliable reporting and business insights. 

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing the intercompany SLA process
You are responsible for tracking and coding invoices, analysing expenses and monitoring accruals. In addition to this you will explore opportunities to streamline the process in accordance with the intercompany agreements in place. You will prepare the monthly invoices for the refinery businesses and related intercompany transactions.

Reconciliations and monthly closing process
As an Assistant Controller, you are responsible for the reconciliation of commercial estimates vs. accounting profit and loss (P&L) and you will manage and analyse the P&L for various business segments. You are assisting in the monthly process of mark-to-market valuation of inventory and open contract positions. You will reconcile yield & production reports as well as the various flows from the contract administration system with the general ledger. Additionally, you will also prepare monthly balance-sheet reconciliations for the various Olenex entities. In addition, you will manage the monthly preparation, reconciliation and follow up of accruals and prepare the SGA analyses per Business Unit.

Other responsibilities
You prepare the calculation and support for monthly tax submissions. When an audit takes place, you will support the internal and external audit processes with regards to any queries, audit findings and necessary follow ups. You also assist in preparing and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and controls. 

Who are you? 
For this position we are looking for a colleague with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance and Management Accounting. You have 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a commodity trading and/or food processing organization. You have experience in financial accounting, reporting and internal controls. Additionally, you have a good eye for detail, a good knowledge of IFRS and relevant experience with ERP / accounting systems such as SAP and JDE. Given the international nature of Olenex, a good command of the English language is required (German is an advantage).
