Jr. Operations Executive
Based in Rotterdam   

Job Description
With this position you will be taking part in the Operations Team of Wilmar Europe Trading B.V. Together with the team you will be responsible for several links in the supply chain of Wilmar. Within Wilmar different commodities are handled like vegetable oils, biodiesel, fatty alcohol and oleo chemicals of which the majority is done in bulk. The initial focus for this position will be on the Packed business where you will replace one of the colleagues going on maternity leave for 5 ½ months + training period. In case of proven suitability, a contract for a longer term is certainly an option. 

Within this position, you will develop yourself on all tasks within the Operations department. We will give you the opportunity to learn all about execution of trading contracts, planning and logistics.

Rotation & Training
Operations Rotterdam consists of 3 teams:

  • Packed
  • Bulk
  • Planning

The intention is to rotate from team to team and learn everything there is to know on Operations matters. In the end we will together see and decide where you fit in the best & where you are needed the most.

Packed business & containers (liquid & dry bulk)
The emphasis of this job is on the contractual & logistical execution of shipments of packed cargo in drums, IBC’s, (big) bags, box containers & iso tanks. The total workload will be handled by a team of 4. The majority of the cargo is shipped into Europe from China, Indonesia & Malaysia. A small portion of the business is export, mainly Asia & USA. Furthermore, the team also arranges the filling of bulk products into drums/IBC’s on demand.

Bulk Inbound Rotterdam
On a regular basis we load bulk parcels in Indonesia & Malaysia with destination Rotterdam. The Bulk Team ensures a proper handling of the incoming cargo, discharge planning & (shore) Tank Planning. The team is also responsible for the physical flow to our production location(s) by managing the Tank Barge Planning. This includes all relevant documentation.

Planning
The planning team takes care of the mid-term planning of fatty acids we import into Rotterdam & Barcelona which we sell ex-tank into Europe. It also handles the feedstock planning for the Fatty Alcohol Plant in Rozenburg, the feedstock planning & flows incl. transport to the various production locations in Europe (Antwerp, Lavera, St. Michiel, Castiglione & Tarragona). Finally, it executes the tolling protocol for our tolling sites in Europe.

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Handling and coordinating shipments.
• Execution of trading contracts, purchases and sales & contract management.
• Purchase of certain services like transport (road, sea, and air), heating of products, packing, storage, customs formalities.
• Assuring the factories and customers are supplied in time.
• Arrange additional transport where needed.
• Manage and control all shipments and deliveries.
• Communicating with terminals, warehouses, surveyors, shipping agents/-lines, carriers, suppliers & customers, internal & external stakeholders is part of the day-to-day job.

Requirements:

• For this position we are looking for a colleague with a bachelor’s degree in Harbour Logistics or similar.
• You are pro-active, eager to learn, a logical thinker, a team player and a strong communicator.
• In this job you need to have the ability to cope with pressure and unpredictable situations.
• Given the International nature of Wilmar a good command of the English language is required, other languages are a pro, same goes for customs formalities.
